Rehearsal Calendar:
Mandatory Tech Week: May 29th – June 1st from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Tech week rehearsals are mandatory and essential for a successful production. By committing to the stage, our young performers gain valuable experience and develop their skills as performers.
Production Dates: June 2nd @ 7pm *call time 5:00pm June 3rd @ 2pm , 2023 *call time 12:00pm
Every performer will receive a calendar for the month on April. They are to approach family, friends, teachers, and other loved ones to help them fill the days on that calendar with names and donations.
Donors will choose a space (example April 14th), they will donate the same dollar amount as that date (for this example $14), and then they will receive 14 entries into the raffle. Winners will be drawn and announced on May 5th. Prizes include tickets to see Moulin Rouge the Musical, A 42” TV, $250 cash prize, and a chance to win even MORE cash with a collection of $100+ in scratch off tickets.
All Calendars and money are due back at rehearsal by May 1st, 2023.
Performers MUST fill 50% of their calendar to cover their costuming fees. Performers who fill their entire calendar, will receive a free show shirt!
It isn’t just the kids who have fun here at Phoenix – the parents do too!
In our continued efforts to keep our program costs low, Phoenix asks that our parents offer their services to help the production. Volunteer opportunities range in level of commitment so do not worry if you are a busy or working parent! Please read the following carefully – we’ve updated our parent volunteer commitment.
We ask each parent to do BOTH #1 and #2 below:
1) Volunteer for at least 3 ‘points’ pre-show to help us prepare for the show. This includes activities that happen up until the show including tech week, such as creating props/set pieces/costumes, donating materials, painting set pieces,
transporting props/set/costumes to the theater, providing concession items, etc.
If you wish to donate more of your time pre-show in exchange for free tickets to the show, it will be on a basis of 4 points = one ticket. *max tickets per family to be decided soon*
AND
2) Volunteer for at least 2 show or post-show activities:
a. Front of house at ticketing or concessions (you don’t miss any of the show for these activities – the show doesn’t start until helpers are inside the theater)
b. Back of house in costuming or backstage crew (such a fun behind the scenes perspective of the show – and you don’t need a ticket on the day you help in these activities) Please note that if you are part of backstage crew, you must help at least once during tech week on the same side you are needed during the show to understand the show and what needs done. Friday backstage crew must help Wednesday of tech week and Saturday crew must help Thursday of tech week. Due to the longer time commitment of this option, you will also earn one free ticket to the show.
c. Post-show: Loading and transporting props/set/costumes after the show, “strike” the set (help with taking things down), or cast party chaperone (our cast party will happen right after the last show while everything is being taken down and loaded up, etc.)
VOLUNTEERS CAN EARN A MAXIMUM OF 4 FREE TICKETS.

Karen Jamison + Tiffany Jamison, Heads of Costumes

We understand how important remembering your child’s performances is. Because of this, Phoenix offers two chances for you to receive beautifully captured memories from this production. Included in your price of tuition, you receive access to photos taken during at least one tech rehearsal of the show as well as a digital copy of the full filmed performance.
The photos will be taken during one tech rehearsal to give the photographer free range of the ‘house’ and take the best photos possible. While all tech rehearsals should be done full out with full costumes and makeup – we will inform you which rehearsals these photos are being taken at as soon as we know.
Access to this video and photos will be sent digitally, approximately two weeks after the performance.
Performers will have to acquire shoes before the week of the show as stated in the Dress Code Policy. Shoes will vary for each performer. Most female leads will be expected to wear character shoes and most male leads will be asked to wear black dress shoes. Phoenix has several options for helping our students get their shoes discounted. Please contact Miss Amber if you would like us to help!
Performers will also be required to have either black or nude base layers on. This provides a blank slate for costuming and prevents the students from ever being ‘undressed’. Leotard and shorts, leotard and leggings, tank top and leggings or tank top and shorts are all acceptable. Our directing team will take into consideration your child’s costume to determine the best combination for them. Specifics on each character’s base layer needs will develop as the show and costuming progresses.
