At Phoenix Performing Arts, we believe every child who wants to be on stage deserves the opportunity to shine.

We do not cut students from auditions. Every child who auditions for Peter Pan Jr. will be cast in the production.

Enrollment is capped to ensure we can provide quality instruction, individualized attention, and proper staff support. Once capacity is reached, we are not able to accept additional students.

Securing Your Spot

Families who already know they plan to participate may register for the Youth Production Workshop in advance to secure their child’s place. Registering signals your commitment to the full program regardless of casting outcome.

Many returning families choose this option because they know they want to be part of the experience no matter the role.

Families are also welcome to wait until casting is announced before enrolling. We understand that some students prefer to decide after roles are assigned.

Enrollment is first-come, first-served, and space is limited.

Attendance Expectations

All known rehearsal conflicts must be declared at the time of auditions.

If a new conflict arises during the production, families must provide at least one week’s notice whenever possible.

Cast members are permitted no more than two unexcused absences.

The earlier conflicts are communicated, the better we are able to arrange rehearsal schedules to support each student while maintaining the integrity of the production.

Fundraiser Participation

All cast members participate in one production fundraiser.

All funds raised go directly into the show to support costumes, sets, and production expenses. This allows us to keep tuition affordable.

Family Volunteer Requirement

Phoenix is a community-based organization. Each family is expected to participate in volunteer support and can earn complimentary tickets in exchange for volunteer hours.

Volunteer opportunities include:

  • Props
  • Set building and painting
  • Costumes
  • Rehearsal support
  • Front of house
  • Backstage crew

Families consistently tell us this is one of their favorite parts of Phoenix. It becomes a shared experience.

Synopsis

Peter Pan invites the audience into the magical world of Neverland, a place where children never grow up.

In London, Wendy Darling and her brothers, Michael and John, are settling in for the night when Peter Pan and Tinker Bell fly into their nursery in search of Peter’s missing shadow. Wendy befriends Peter, and soon the children take flight with him to Neverland.

In Neverland, the Lost Boys are constantly threatened by Captain Hook and his pirates. With the help of Tiger Lily and the Brave Girls, Peter and the Lost Boys protect their home. Wendy takes on the role of “mother” to the Lost Boys, bringing stories and comfort to their underground hideout.

As adventures unfold, the children rescue Tiger Lily, outsmart Captain Hook, and celebrate friendship and bravery. But Wendy begins to miss home and realizes that growing up is a part of life. When the pirates capture the children and attempt to force them to walk the plank, Peter and his friends mount a daring rescue.

In the end, Wendy, Michael, and John return home to their parents, bringing the Lost Boys with them. Peter chooses to remain in Neverland, where imagination and adventure live on forever.

Peter Pan Jr. is a story about friendship, courage, imagination, and the bittersweet magic of growing up.
